I was in the last wave for the Female Sprint, which meant that whilst I wasn't last in the race, I was the last to finish in my wave, which meant it looked like I was last! Because of this I got accompanied to the finish line by a man on a bike – who kept encouraging the few remaining spectators to cheer me on. All-in-all very embarrassing, but I had an enjoyable, if very quiet race on my own. I am definitely going to take part next year and beat those lousy times! Overall I was 19th from last. 10 people aborted during the swim and 8 people dropped out during the cycle. 
So although my pride has been dented it has all been well worth it – the pledges to date total an astonishing £3,947.00. Julian, Teresa and I would like to say a huge thank you to you all – you have been very generous.
